Maid of Honor
Sofia Martinez
Emily's closest friend since childhood.
Sofia has been Emma’s partner in crime since they were seven years old, when Sofia’s family moved in next door and the two girls bonded over their shared love of building elaborate fairy houses in Sofia’s backyard. From childhood adventures to teenage heartbreaks to navigating adulthood, they’ve been each other’s constant through every major life moment.
Throughout high school, Sofia was the practical one who kept Emma grounded when her creative mind got carried away with ambitious art projects that were due the next day. In college, even though they attended different schools, they maintained their friendship through weekly video calls, care packages during finals, and epic summer road trips that always included too much junk food and terrible singing along to pop music.
Sofia was the first person Emma called after meeting Daniel, gushing about this “amazing guy who spilled coffee all over me but somehow made it romantic.” As Emma’s oldest friend, Sofia was naturally protective and skeptical – she’d seen Emma fall for charming guys before. But when she finally met Daniel at Emma’s birthday dinner, she knew he was different. The way he listened when Emma talked about her design work, how he remembered Sofia’s job details from Emma’s stories, and most importantly, how genuinely happy Emma was around him convinced Sofia that this one was a keeper.
When Emma called her at dawn from the camping trip to share the engagement news, Sofia cried happy tears and immediately started a wedding planning Pinterest board. As Maid of Honor, Sofia has thrown herself into making Emma’s wedding dreams come true, from dress shopping marathons to coordinating the bachelorette party to perfecting her speech that definitely won’t make everyone cry (it absolutely will).
Seeing Emma this radiant and in love fills Sofia’s heart. She’s honored to stand beside her best friend as she marries her perfect match.
